Canada Lifestyle Fashion Show & Exhibition 2026 brings leading Pakistani and South Asian designers, creative talent and an inclusive community together for a landmark Calgary showcase

CALGARY — The colors, craftsmanship and creative spirit of Pakistan came alive in Calgary on August 28 as the Canada Lifestyle Fashion Show & Exhibition 2026 brought together fashion, culture and community for a house-full evening at Dera Banquet Hall.
The gala created a distinctive Canadian stage for Pakistani and South Asian fashion, bringing established designers, emerging creative voices and Canadian-based talent together in a showcase that moved seamlessly between couture, contemporary design, cultural storytelling and inclusion.
Presented by RMD Lifestyle Events Inc., led by CEO Hala Badar, and The World in Vogue, led by CEO Muhammad Sheraz, the event brought together designers, models, artists, entrepreneurs, media personalities and community leaders, reflecting Calgary’s vibrant and increasingly diverse cultural landscape.
Guiding the creative vision was acclaimed designer and creative visionary Hassan Riaz, who served as Show Director and Creative Choreographer. From the choreography and visual identity to the overall flow of the runway, Riaz helped shape the evening’s creative language while also appearing as a featured designer through Gogi by Hassan Riaz.
The event’s public relations and media outreach were led by Mujtaba Javaid of WhiteSpace, serving as the official publicist, helping take the showcase’s story to wider media audiences while highlighting its themes of fashion, culture, creativity and inclusion.

Where Fashion Meets Cultural Identity
The evening welcomed acclaimed Pakistani actor and director Saife Hasan as Chief Guest, joining prominent community figures, industry professionals, entrepreneurs and supporters.
Among the distinguished guests was Hon. Muhammad Yaseen, Associate Minister of Multiculturalism and MLA for Calgary-North, whose attendance reflected the importance of initiatives that create opportunities for Calgary’s diverse communities to connect and celebrate their cultural identities.
But the significance of the evening extended beyond the runway.
At its core, the showcase demonstrated how fashion can become a bridge between cultures — connecting Pakistani and South Asian creative industries with audiences and opportunities within Canada’s multicultural landscape.
A Vision Built on Community
For Hala Badar, CEO of RMD Lifestyle Events Inc. and Co-Organizer, the response to the Calgary showcase marked a significant moment in a journey that she believes is only beginning.
“Being in the industry of creating events has taught me that you have to dream bigger. Calgary showed up for this vision, and seeing a house full of people supporting fashion, culture and inclusion means so much to us. This is not the end — it is the beginning of something bigger, and we promise to continue creating opportunities and platforms for our community.”
Badar’s approach is built around creating spaces where creativity can open doors to connection, entrepreneurship and opportunity.
For Co-Organizer Muhammad Sheraz, CEO of The World in Vogue, the event was equally significant on a personal level.
After 13 years in the fashion and media industry, Sheraz moved to Canada for his daughter, Abia, beginning a new chapter while maintaining a strong connection to the culture and creative industry he had been part of for years.
“I have been a part of the fashion and media industry for the last 13 years. A few years ago, I moved to Canada for my daughter, Abia. Starting over in a new country, as a single parent, was not easy. But I always carried my love for my culture with me. I wanted to bring the beauty of Pakistani culture, our fashion, our designers and our craftsmanship to the world.”
That belief sits at the heart of The World in Vogue’s vision — using fashion to allow culture to travel, connect and inspire audiences across borders.
Sheraz also emphasized his commitment to creating future opportunities for special children and inclusive communities, making inclusion an important part of the platform’s long-term direction.
Hassan Riaz: The Creative Force Behind the Show

Few figures were as central to the evening’s creative identity as Hassan Riaz.
Serving as both Show Director and Creative Choreographer, while simultaneously presenting his own collection, Riaz helped turn a diverse lineup of designers into a unified runway experience.
The show opened with his “DESTINE — The True Colours of Pakistan,” a collection inspired by Pakistan’s dramatic landscapes, changing seasons and rich visual heritage.
The collection established the visual tone for the evening, presenting Pakistan through colour, craftsmanship, emotion and creative expression rather than simply as a place of origin.
His role extended well beyond the presentation of his own work. As Show Director, Riaz orchestrated the movement and presentation of the evening’s diverse collections, creating continuity between individual designers and shaping them into a cohesive visual narrative.
A Powerful Showcase of Pakistani and South Asian Fashion
The runway brought together an eclectic selection of established names, emerging voices and contemporary fashion brands, including:
- Naushemian by Nauman Arfeen
- Emraan Rajput
- Gogi by Hassan Riaz
- Shamaeel Ansari
- Stitchcraft by Roopan Grewal
- Maria Farrukh
- Pehnawa by Sidra Ateeque
- Ramya Peri
- North Arabia Couture
- Nisa Style
- Yordi Bridal & Fashion
- Ross Henderson
The collections offered a broad spectrum of South Asian fashion, moving from traditional craftsmanship to contemporary silhouettes and allowing each designer to bring a distinctive aesthetic to the Canadian runway.
The response from the audience was equally significant, with the collections receiving enthusiastic applause throughout the evening.
The showcase highlighted both the growing appetite for South Asian fashion and the potential for designers and creative entrepreneurs to connect with audiences beyond their traditional markets.
When Inclusion Walks the Runway

Yet one of the evening’s most powerful moments came not from couture, but from inclusion.
In collaboration with Calgary’s Inclusive Social Club, founded by Aneela Mir, the organizers presented a special children’s walk featuring special children who were given the opportunity to step onto the runway and experience its excitement and confidence.
Their presence transformed inclusion from a message into an experience.
Rather than placing accessibility and inclusion outside the main fashion program, the organizers made the children’s walk an integral part of the show itself — delivering a powerful message that the runway, and the opportunities it represents, belongs to everyone.
The segment also reflected Sheraz’s personal commitment to creating more platforms and meaningful opportunities for special children through future initiatives.
Celebrating the People Behind the Vision
Behind the glamour of the runway was a broader community of people whose contributions helped make the showcase possible.
Gurinder Brar, MLA for Calgary-North East, joined the certificate presentation recognizing individuals and contributors involved in bringing the event to life.
Brar said:
“As a representative of Calgary-North East, I am always looking for opportunities to support initiatives that benefit and bring together our communities. Events like this promote cultural exchange, encourage entrepreneurship and give talented individuals a platform to be seen. I believe Calgary thrives when we create more opportunities for our diverse communities to come together and celebrate what they have to offer.”
The recognition ceremony acknowledged the wider network behind the production — creatives, organizers, partners, volunteers and community supporters whose combined efforts helped bring the vision from concept to runway.
From Runway to Rhythm
Fashion eventually gave way to music as the evening moved toward its finale.
The gala concluded with a live performance by Shallum Xavier, founding member of the celebrated musical band Fuzön.
His performance added another cultural dimension to an evening that had already brought fashion, storytelling, creativity and community together, giving the audience a fittingly celebratory conclusion.
The Story Continues Beyond the Runway

The August 28 gala served as the centerpiece of the wider Canada Lifestyle Fashion Show & Exhibition 2026.
The initiative continued on August 30 at the Courtyard by Marriott Calgary Airport, Stampede Ballroom, where the lifestyle exhibition expanded the experience beyond the runway.
The exhibition created additional opportunities for fashion brands, entrepreneurs, businesses, creatives and community members to connect, extending the event’s purpose from a single evening of fashion into a broader platform for engagement and opportunity.
Together, the fashion show and exhibition represent a larger ambition: to build a continuing Canadian platform where South Asian fashion and cultural expression can engage with Canada’s increasingly diverse creative landscape.
Looking Beyond Calgary
For RMD Lifestyle Events Inc. and The World in Vogue, Calgary represents a beginning rather than a conclusion.
A house-full audience, an accomplished designer lineup, strong community participation, government and community support, and a meaningful commitment to inclusion demonstrated the potential of a platform that places fashion and cultural identity at the center of a larger conversation.
With Hassan Riaz leading the creative production as Show Director and Mujtaba Javaid of WhiteSpace serving as official publicist, the showcase brought fashion, media and creative storytelling together under one vision.
The organizers now look toward future editions and expanded initiatives across Canada with a clear message from Calgary: the audience is there, the appetite is growing, and the community is ready.
Ready to see South Asian fashion not simply celebrated, but confidently positioned on the Canadian and international stage.
The runway has only just begun.
