Pop icon Ariana Grande has officially wrapped filming for the upcoming Meet the Parents sequel, Focker In-Law, marking her first major live-action movie role since Wicked.
The 32-year-old singer-actress took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post alongside several behind-the-scenes photos from the film’s set, confirming her casting and expressing her gratitude to the crew and co-stars.
“These past few months have been so, so unimaginably special,” Ariana wrote. “I love my Fockers, and I love my Byrnes… so, so very much. I will miss this bunch terribly. See you next November!”
The post included candid images of Ariana hugging Ben Stiller, who reprises his role as Greg Focker, and posing with Beanie Feldstein, one of the new faces joining the beloved comedy franchise.
Star-studded ensemble returns for the sequel
Focker In-Law marks the fourth installment in the hit Meet the Parents film series, which first began in 2000. The movie is set for a theatrical release on November 25, 2026.
The ensemble cast features returning stars Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, and Owen Wilson, alongside Stiller and Grande. The film is written and directed by John Hamburg, who also scripted and helmed the earlier entries in the franchise.
While the plot has been kept tightly under wraps, Ben Stiller offered a hint earlier this year during a 25th-anniversary screening of Meet the Parents at the Tribeca Festival.
“What spurred the idea is that I’m now the age Bob [De Niro] was when we did the first movie,” Stiller said. “It felt like a mirror to that story — only this time, one of my kids is thinking about introducing their partner to the family.”
Ariana’s mystery role sparks excitement
Though Ariana’s role in Focker In-Law has yet to be officially disclosed, her extended time on set — as shown in her post — suggests she plays a significant part in the film’s storyline.
Fans have been buzzing with speculation online, with some guessing that Grande could portray a love interest or a comedic family addition tied to the next generation of Fockers.
Focker In-Law will be Ariana’s first live-action appearance since Wicked, in which she portrays Glinda the Good Witch. Her involvement in another high-profile Hollywood production signals her growing transition from pop superstar to full-fledged actress.
As excitement builds for the release, Focker In-Law promises to deliver a nostalgic yet fresh chapter in the long-running comedy saga — blending the original’s awkward family humor with a modern twist.
