Misbah Arshad has been crowned Miss Universe Pakistan 2026, becoming the fourth Pakistani woman selected to represent the country at the international Miss Universe competition.
Arshad received the title at a ceremony in the Philippines, where Miss Universe Pakistan franchise owner Josh Yugen presented her with the official sash. Her predecessor, Roma Riaz, placed the crown on her head during the coronation.
The psychology student stood out during the competition, particularly during the final question round. Her thoughtful response highlighted her personal journey, resilience and attitude toward failure.
Philippine musician and actor Bailey May asked Arshad which version of herself would ask the more difficult question if her 10-year-old and 80-year-old selves were placed together in the same room.
Arshad chose her 10-year-old self, explaining that her younger self would want to know how her life eventually turned out. She said she would tell her younger self that she had experienced failure but continued to rise each time.
Her response focused on accepting the different stages of life and finding value in difficult experiences. She described life as a cycle that should not only be accepted but genuinely enjoyed.
Arshad also emphasized that failure should not determine whether a person is considered a winner. According to her, continuing to hope, making consistent efforts and becoming better with every step are what ultimately define success.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Pakistan has previous international pageant experience. She represented Pakistan at the Miss International 2023 competition in Japan before competing at Miss Supranational 2024 in Poland.
Her previous experience on international platforms could prove valuable as she prepares for the next stage of her journey. Arshad will travel to Puerto Rico to represent Pakistan at the 75th edition of the Miss Universe competition.
Following her victory, Arshad described the journey toward the crown as an important part of her achievement. She said the lessons learned and people she met along the way represented the true prize of the experience.
Her coronation outfit also carried a personal message. Arshad wore a white gown with a crystal-encrusted bodice designed by Vietnamese designer Nguyễn Tiến Truyển.
According to Arshad, the white color represented hope and served as a reminder to continue believing in dreams. The royal blue crystals symbolized education and knowledge gained through continuous learning.
Arshad’s victory adds another chapter to Pakistan’s growing participation in the Miss Universe competition. The Miss Universe Pakistan franchise was launched in 2023, with Erica Robin becoming the country’s first representative.
Robin made history by reaching the Top 20 at the Miss Universe competition in El Salvador. Her participation also drew international attention after she wore a pink metallic burkini during the swimsuit preliminary round.
Noor Xarmina subsequently represented Pakistan at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico, while Roma Riaz became the country’s representative in 2025.
Riaz later assumed a leadership role within the franchise as national director, becoming involved in preparing and mentoring future Pakistani representatives.
With Misbah Arshad now holding the Miss Universe Pakistan 2026 title, attention will turn toward her upcoming appearance on the international stage in Puerto Rico.
Her combination of academic background, previous pageant experience and focus on resilience will form an important part of her representation of Pakistan as she prepares for the 75th Miss Universe competition.
